Smartsun is the £1 wristband that tells you when you’ve had too much sun

If you’re prone to burning, and are never sure when you’ve been in the sun too long, it could now be as simple as wearing a UV-sensitive wristband, namely Smartsun.

Designed by Swedish scientists, the new light-reactive bracelet changes colour from yellow to pink, warning wearers that it’s time to slap some sunscreen on and head into the shade.

What’s great about Smartsun is that the bands have been designed for different skin types, as some people burn much more easily than others, me included.

While the bands only cost £1, they only last a day, so could actually end up being costly, especially if you’re going on a two week holiday. Also, the fact that they’re so disposable surely can’t be great for the environment.

If you want to get your hands on Smartsun, a 7-day pack is available from Pharmacy First for £5.99.
