Mobile rumours: More Nexus 6 specs, Nokia Lumia 830 teased

The world of mobile news is scary and complicated, with rumours flying about all over the place about what the many different companies are planning on doing. If you don’t know what you’re looking for then chances are you won’t get very far, so to ease your burden here are some of today’s biggest mobile rumours.

1. New leaks show off more possible specs for the Nexus 6

We heard some more possible specs about the Nexus 6 yesterday, and today a new set have popped up online thanks to a listing on AnTuTu. Yesterday we heard that Google’s upcoming handset will come with 5.9″ screen size, 1080p resolution and a Snapdragon 801 processor, but todays  specs are far more promising with 5.2″ screen, a Snapdragon 805 processor and a 2560 x 1440 (QHD) resolution.

It’s nice to see some specs that are a little bit less out of date, but it could mean that one, or both, of these rumours are completely fabricated so we need to take it with a pinch of salt before we go and get all excited. [Toms Hardware]

2. Microsoft teases the Nokia Lumia 830 and announces some specs

We heard a little bit more about the Lumia 730, Nokia’s selfie-centric phone, yesterday, and today we have a little glimpse at what the company are offering with the supposedly high-end Lumia 830 thanks to a teaser released by Microsoft that implies the phone will be on display at this year’s IFA conference. The teaser doesn’t mention anything about specs, but TK Tech News are reporting that the phone will have a 20.1MP camera, a 4.5-inch 720p display. SD card support, and the latest version of Windows Phone 8.1. Those aren’t confirmed, but they definitely seem like that kind of specs we’d expect — even if 720p is a little bit disappointing.

But, if the teaser is any indication, we don’t have very long to wait before we get to see these phone’s in action. [Phones Review]
