Is David Cameron the only person alive still using a Blackberry?

In shocking news, David Cameron has confessed his reliance on his BlackBerry smartphone, claiming he can run the government from it, while on holiday. We don’t know whether we’re more shocked at the fact that there’s a person out there still using a Blackberry, or the fact that the Prime Minister has actually confessed this.

“Wherever I am in the world I am always within a few feet of a BlackBerry and an ability to manage things should they need to be managed,” he said on Monday. “And indeed as I have done on I think almost every holiday that I have enjoyed over the last few years.”

While we’d like to think Cameron still has a BlackBerry, because he’s just the world’s biggest fan of BBM, according to the Guardian, the PM has actually been using the smartphones for years, due to the perceived security of the smartphone, which passes all data and through secure servers and has on-device encryption.

Sadly for Dave, the BlackBerry’s chief executive, John Chen, warned in April that the company may stop producing handsets soon, so the PM may just have to suck it up and move over to an Android or iPhone.
