If you store a lot of data online using some sort of cloud storage, you’ll be pleased to know that one of the biggest cloud storage companies Dropbox is improving its security.
Head of product for Dropbox Ilya Fushman said: ‘Today we’re bringing additional security and control to the heart of where work gets done in Dropbox for Business – shared folders and shared links’.
The new view-only function gives users the capability to choose who is given access to files in order to edit them, along with that password, file expiration, full-text search where users can search for words contained within a file, and APIs that let developers embed preview and shared folder features into their apps all become live.
With Dropbox being the main cloud storage company out there for business users with a reported 80,000 users, these steps are impressive and let’s hope they continue to make the software more secure to protect our files.
