Welcome to shinyshiny: a bright new perspective on lifestyle and technology

Hi, I’m Becca! I’m the Editor of shinyshiny and over the past few months our team has been working on a big project. A project to transform a site that looked a bit dated and content that felt a little stale into a digital destination specially created to provide our readers with a modern and refreshing new perspective when it comes to the way technology can enrich all of our lives and transform our attitudes towards health and fitness, our sense of style, the way we shop, our homes and a whole lot more.

shinyshiny was created way back in 2004 and quickly became one of the top global tech blogs aimed at a female audience. Now a whole decade later, the site has evolved from simply a blog all about “gadgets for girls” and is devoted to bringing you insightful and bang up-to-date content about the way technology can be integrated into your day-to-day life. We don’t just want to tell you to go out and buy that or look at how cool this is, we’re focused on the way technology can make everything easier and more enjoyable and we’re really passionate about how gadgets, apps and wearable devices can have a huge, positive impact on every area of our lives.

We’ll still be bringing you current tech news, no-nonsense reviews, video round-ups, pop culture lists and long features about areas we feel particularly excited about (as well as a whole host of other interactive features we’ll be revealing later in the month). In fact, take a look around the site for yourself to see what we’ve been up to. We recommend you start with one of these posts:

Will the Sony SmartBand shake up the wearable fitness market?

The rise of medical apps and mobile diagnosis

Why Apple gluing the smart home together with HomeKit isn’t so dumb

Why web series are such big business (and not to mention fun)

How Apple has changed the face of digital music

Sephora has launched mirrors that show what make-up will look like on you

Finally, if you’re a brand, advertiser or just want to find out how you can work with us, then please check out our Advertising page to learn more about whether we’d make a good team. Here at shinyshiny we pride ourselves on our honest and insightful editorial content, which means we only work with brands our readers will be interested in who also share our core values.

So finally, come on in! Have a look around, Meet the Team, and if you want to give us any feedback about the new site, tell us what content you’d love to see in future or you just want to say hello then head on over to Twitter, we’re @shinyshiny if you’re not following us already!
