Sony Xperia Z2 review

It’s incredibly important you make the right decision when choosing your new smartphone, and with so many on the market, it can seem a nightmare when picking the one for you. In the video above, we take a look at the new Sony Xperia Z2, and see what’s so great about it, apart from its 5.2 inch screen.

1 Good camera

The images its 20 mega pixel camera takes are rich in detail and busting with colour.

2 Good video camera (including Instagram-style filters)

The video camera takes footage at the new level of high definition 4K – four times clearer than standard HD which it can output to your 4K TV. You can also apply Instagram style filters to the video too – a lovely touch.

3 Waterproof

Like most new Sonys you can dunk it in your tea, drop it in the toilet or take it swimming and it will carry on working, even up to a depth of 1.5 metres depth for 30 minutes.

4 Excellent speakers

The smart thing that Sony has done here is to add dual front facing speakers. It means that unlike almost every phone, apart from the HTC One M8, the Xperia Z2 delivers good quality (for a mobile) stereo sound

5 Decent battery

It might sound boring, but we all know that good battery life is essential for a great smartphone and the Z2 is as good as its rivals and way clear of mobiles like the iPhone 5S. Don’t play too much video and you might even get a couple of days from it.

If you want a mobile with a good camera, this is definitely one to take a look at, but don’t forget to check out the HTC One M8 and Samsung Galaxy S5 too.
