Tablets, slates or pads, whatever you want to call them, they're EVERYWHERE, all looking to knock the iPad from its throne and battle it out against the rest.
Over the past few weeks an unprecedented amount were launched and IFA made everything even more intense.
Here's five (OK six, but two are from the same brand) we think you should be getting excited about, from the cheap and cheerful Lenovo IdeaPad through to the Playstation-ready Sony Tablet S.
We can't guarantee any will prove to be serious competition for Apple in the long run, but they're going to give it a go, LET THE GAMES BEGIN.
Lenovo IdeaPad A1

The latest tablet from Lenovo is the IdeaPad A1, a pretty standard device with a 7 inch screen, 1024X600 pixel display and single-core 1GHz processor running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The tablet stands out because its cheapest version is only around £125 ($200). Although the blue casing may look a bit cheap to some, we actually think it makes a welcome change.
