It ain’t magic and no, it isn’t shaped like a prehistoric axe-head, but it is a well-priced wireless mouse and if you want, you can cover up the Microsoft logo with a sticker.

Microsoft have just launched a wireless mobile mouse – the 3000v2. Apple’s ergonomic. pearl-coloured Magic Mouse came out a few months ago and is a slightly sexier proposition all round, the buttons are built in, it’s shaped like some mystical stone tool and is advertised like God made it. The Magic Mouse also incorporates multitouch capabilities – stroking the flat surface

Microsoft’s Mobile Mouse has a more standard three button scroll wheel set up, a useful 10 months battery life and can be used at a range of 30 feet. 1,000 dpi, the mouse connects over a 2.4GHz connection.

Where Microsoft’s mouse wins? Price, of course. The Magic Mouse is a wallet-wrenching £56, and the Microsoft one is a nice easy £19.99. Something you afford to get for your laptop.. Oh and the Magic Mouse works only on Macs so, you might want to take that into account.
