UPDATE: Final weeks for this.. wing answers along to our email address: comps@shinymedia.com[09/03/10]

It has to be said that not everyone 'gets' computers. So it's a good job those more 'IT literate' people are around to help their friends and family with home IT issues! You see, they have to put up with a lot - while they do it all with a happy heart, they all come across 'those' situations that are so odd, confusing or downright funny that they simply HAVE to tell the word about it! Which is where www.wherestheanykey.co.uk comes in.
It's a place to share your IT fail stories.

And that's why we at Shiny Shiny and our competition sponsors Microsoft(c) love them for it. So to salute these unsung heroes of IT, we're offering one lucky Shiny Shiny reader the chance to win a brand new Dell laptop complete with Windows 7 Home Premium.

How to win that PC

To enter is tell us (Twitter style) in less than 140 characters (we won't be too strict if it is a bit over) about your favourite IT fail. You know it could be anything from confusing a CD-ROM drive with a cup holder through to the time you spent an hour wondering why your PC wasn't working when all that was wrong was that you hadn't plugged it
into the electricity mains.

Check out http://www.wherestheanykey.co.uk to get an idea of what you need to be saying and then ping your story to comps@shinymedia.com with Microsoft Shiny Comp in the header.

We'll be wrapping up the competition at the end of March and announcing the winner soon after.

  • Thank you for a wise and very well-written post. I'll definitely be checking out these links in the coming days. Good luck to you.

  • Hi! I recovered your website on Yahoo .Check my poker rakeback site. Its very good written and it helped me a lot.

  • decent blog.

  • Hands down, Apples app store wins by a mile. Its a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but Im not sure Id want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.
