Skype has tonday announced imminent death to mobile phone companies. Kinda. From today, you can now download a Skype client for both Android phones, and over 100 Java based phones from the likes of Nokia, Samsung, LG, Motorola and Sony Ericsson.

It’ll allow you to make Skype to Skype calls for freesies, as well as access an up-to-date contact list, so you can see who’s online, send and receive IM messages, as well as update your own little ‘presence message’. All you’ll need is a 3G connection, and a decent data plan from your mobile provider.
