Churning in the rumour mill today is news that a Sony PSP-4000 upgrade is scheduled to make an appearance into the gaming world come 2009. As usual, the buzz comes from an anonymous source that has given gaming geeks (over at Eurogamer) a heads up of the supposed upcoming portable gaming handheld. That's not all - this anonymous source also claims to "be in the know" about an additional handheld - an all new PSP-2. If we were to go on the word of this anonymous tip off, then developers are already working on new games titles, so basically expect more rumours to churn in that mill over the forthcoming months.
If we were to take this snippet of information as fact, then perhaps this is Sony's way to make up for the shorter battery life and power sucking LCD display of the PSP-3000. An announcement at CES in January perhaps?
Sony's keeping schtum about the whole thing so there won't be any confirming going down any time soon, but the prospect is exciting, yes.
