MySpace could be launching very own PMP

myspace logo.jpgMySpace may not be winning the social network popularity race, but that doesn't mean attempts to win back a few devotees and raise its status is going to wane. They've got a plan. That plan is to release its very own personal media player and go up against the likes of the infamous iPod and other notable PMPs. It would appear Myspace has taken a leaf out of Apple's books by first unleashing Myspace music and now hinting at a Myspace branded PMP. The main difference being that Myspace would bring sharing and community stability to the table - a quality that iTunes lacks.

Co-founder and chief executive Chris DeWolfe pointed out that a lot of people come to MySpace to find music for their iPods, highlighting how accretive it is to iPod sales, implying it could do the same and people could essentially go to the same place to beef up their music libraries for its own device.

So what could this mean? A high storage packed, 3G/wireless device with the ability to browse MySpace Music and stream wherever and whenever? Only time will tell.
