Twitter for plants is Twitter for cerazy people

Are you one of those annoying people who has plants infiltrating adorning every room of the house, including the kitchen (WTF?), bathroom or on top of the television? Or even worse, do you talk to plants and stroke them as if they were living mammals? If you've answered yes to one of the above, or rather worryingly to both, then you'll be the type to relish in this Twitter kit for plants. There's an apparent gap in the market for a DIY kit enabling your plant to essentially tweet you when it needs water or a bit of love. I seem to have the touch of death and no plant survives in my care (or was it that I didn't water them?), so this would be wasted on someone like me, but if you worry how your precious little orchid's getting on when out for the day, I'd seriously consider this.

The kit is made up of moisture sensors and an ethernet adapter, allowing it to update its own Twitter account with its current level of thirst. So if the soil moisture level drops, you'll receive a tweet kindly telling you to "water me please". Ignoring the tweet will result in a more urgent message - "URGENT! Water me!". This is all fine and dandy, but when you're at work and your arduous plant is demanding water, there's very little you can do about it until you get home. Anyone following your plant can take action, but unless you plant is on the verge of extinction, or it's the plant from Little Shop of Horrors, it's doubtful action will be taken.

Once you've given in to its demands, it'll tweet "thank you for watering me". God forbid you over water it, otherwise it'll embarrass you in some way by sending tweets to all your followers. Only kidding, but it will chastise you with a "you over watered me" tweet.

The DIY kit costs $100 USD here and may need a little soldering.
