Digital note taking: The Pomera Digital Memo is one ugly netbook wannabe

Would you class this device and the iPhone in the same category? Or even neighbouring categories? No? Neither would I. Well, apparently the Pomera DM10 is for people who love the iphone but want a device that'll allow them to write long documents on a proper keyboard (I'm still not seeing any resemblance). This is the only function the Pomera device claims, so where the connection to the iPhone comes from I don't know (marketing ploy perhaps?). I would have thought comparing it to a netbook would have been more credible - especially as the design is a lot closer to it than the iPhone.

Find out what it does after the jump...

The design is pretty nifty and pocket friendly though (it's just a shame it's unsightly). Its fold out keyboard looks ideal for a lengthy typing session and being able to fold it back up and slip into your pocket/handbag gives it added appeal. Specs-wise, it's got a 20 hour battery life, two second start up, microSD expansion and a 4-inch VGA display.

It's out on 11th November for $280 USD here. Alternatively, you could just spend an extra £50 or so and bag yourself a netbook, which won't be able to slide into your inside jacket pocket but it'll be a lot nicer on the eye and provide you with more functions.

Take a look at some real netbooks here

This makes me MAD. Agrr!
NOTHING in common with the iPhone!!!!!!!!!

RARWRRRR!
*Gets really big and green and starts smashing stuff*

I see comparing random gadgets to the iPhone irritates you too huh Becky? It has absolutely NOTHING to do with the iPhone and was just a sneaky way to generate some interest in it I think. Things like that make me have hulk-like tantrums too! haha
