Previously, those lucky enough to have both the room and the cash for one of Sonos' awesome multiroom music systems had to shell out £250 for a controller to manage each room's player. Well, there's bad news if you're an iPod Touch or iPhone owner and have already performed said shelling out. On the other hand, there's great news if you're that very same iPod owner toying with the idea of picking up the Sonos system. Rather than buying the pricey controller, you can now get exactly the same functionality from a free app from iTunes.

That means access to your whole music collection, volume control of each room's player and access to anything on your iTunes account. They've also partnered with Last.fm to give you access to all their content, and everything you play from your collection will automatically be scrobbled to your account (incidentally, can the person using my Last.fm account to listen to The Carpenters please stop? Thanks).

Free stuff makes Tuesdays taste good.
