Cease all excitement now if you're expecting this to happen any time soon. If the rumours are to be believed as true, we're looking at a 2011 release date. According to sources, Sony is already in talks with software developers about taking the Playstation to level four. It will also pack in a lot more power than the PS3, double the amount to be precise. Some think it's a tad disappointing and restrained that in five years all Sony can do is double its speed. T3 sticks the knife in further by complaining that it doesn't compare to the PS2/PS3 upgrade and is "nothing like the leap from PS2 to PS3".
The important question is what has Nintendo and Microsoft got up its sleeve to rival Sony? A Wii 2 perhaps, an Xbox 720? Whatever's going to happen, expect a console war to go down around the year 2011. It may be a full-on war for the insiders working around the clock to make it happen, but it's fantastic news for avid gamers, impatiently waiting for the latest console to touch down and make its appearance.
