Packard Bell's dot: the scooter of the netbook world?

Packard Bell claims that the 'dot' is the first netbook designed with consumers in mind, a claim that no doubt Asus would have a few things to say about. But apparently, this one is the first designed with for the family.

So, what do a family want from their netbook? Well, apparently they're happy with a 8.9-inch screen, Windows XP, 1GB of RAM and a 5-in-1 card reader. And in the words of Packard Bell, "If the notebook is the main family car, then the dot is a scooter". But is there a gap in the market for a family scooter? Perhaps the price tag of 399 euros (approximately £315) will convince them.
