Next HP iPAQ targets everyday users

hp-ipaq-range.jpgHP has decided that rather than bring out another PDA for business users, they're going to bring out a touchscreen device that doesn't make the normal everyday consumer want to run a mile by packing it with a load of convoluted features they wouldn't use. They're planning on making this one consumer friendly. It's thought the smartphone will pack in Windows Mobile 6.1, a slide out QWERTY keyboard and a range of other features we've seen on the business models of the iPAQ, such as the 910 Business Messenger (but not the business-y ones).

I've got the 910 iPAQ which is a bloody brilliant piece of mobile phone equipment - although it does getting a bit tiresome cutting people off, putting them on hold and muting them with its overly sensitive touchscreen. Hopefully HP will be addressing this issue with their new model.

The new consumer friendly iPAQ will be making its debut in Europe within the next two months.
