We told you about it a few weeks ago, but now LG's KC780 is officially... official, making LG the front runner in the battle of the 8 megapixel handsets (they've got two). It was originally thought the 8 megapixel handset wasn't due to appear on the UK's radar, but it's here and due to make its appearance on 30th November. For a quick recap, the KC780 features quad band GSM support, 30fps video recording, EDGE connectivity, 7.2Mbps HSDPA, GPS, WiFi, Dolby Mobile and motion sensor games.

Camera specs after the jump...

On the photo taking side of things the KC780 packs in a Schneider-Kreuznach certified lens, a high ISO up to 1600 and a range of face enhancing features - face detection, smile detection and beauty mode to rid your subjects of those blemishes. It's also packing SmartLight for brightness reduction, built-in image stabiliser, captures DVD resolution video and can be used as a wireless webcam when paired via Bluetooth to a PC (Smart Bluetooth). The same connection also lets you to use your keyboard for sending text messages and to transfer photos from the phone.

As LG unleashes its second 8 megapixel camera phone, there are still others racing against time to get out their first. Some might call that greedy - I call it being ahead of the game.

Pricing and availability to be confirmed.
