Bluehoo - A social network for the Bluetoothers

Bluehoo.pngBluehoo is a new social network for social network junkies or people who haven't quite got to grips with the major players such as Facebook, MySpace or Bebo, or even the internet (do such people exist?). No, scratch that, Bluehoo is for folk who think talking is overrated and would much rather indulge in a bit of mobile communication in a 10 metre radius. What other possible reasons could there be for signing up to a Bluetooth based social networking application? Its 120,000 users may have something to say about that.

The application is apparently the first non-Microsoft application running in Windows Azure, Microsoft's web operating system for the cloud - so basically a version of Windows that runs over the internet from the insides of Microsoft's own data centres.

It'll run on mobiles and Windows Mobile and works like this - the app will scan for other hoos (no not those little kiddie characters from CBBC) otherwise known as users who're also running the application. When you've found a fellow hoo, you can view their profile and whatever other information they've decided to publicise. Just sounds like a great way to stalk strangers to me. Well, I suppose it'll give people something to do when trapped on a train waiting to pull into the station.
