With a myriad of camera phones to its name, Sony Ericsson thought they'd delve into the digital photo frame market and unveil the 7-inch IDP-200. As we all know, digital photo frames aren't the most exciting gadgetry, but Sony Ericsson seems to be pretty chuffed with what is being branded as "the ideal accessory to your Sony Ericsson Cyber-Shot phone" - namely the C905 Cyber-shot phone with its 8.1 megapixel power. Don't worry, it's compatible with other phones and cameras too, that's just Sony Ericsson looking after its own products.

Compatibility also stretches to USB flash memory, M2 cards, SD, MS Duo cards and Bluetooth, allowing for simple image transfers.

Its dark grey exterior ensures it won't look too out of place at home (unless you live in a multicoloured play house) and should fit nicely into any home. The IDP-200 is packed with the usual digital photo frame features such as, auto rotation, storage space for up to 500 pics (128GB built-Iin memory), touch sensitive controls and a world clock.

No release or pricing details as yet, but expect to see it in Q4.

The 8.1 megapixel C905 Cyber-shot phone is indeed a good buy but I’m not so sure with this Sony Ericsson digital album. I’ve seen a lot of these things lately particularly at http://www.pressdigital.com.au/ which is in glorious white and with an A/C input. The 7-inch video picture frame also allows you to play background music for your slide show. Will these digital albums replace the traditional albums we have? You never know.

I don't think they'll replace traditional albums. Especially as long as technophobes are still roaming the earth. Nothing beats flicking through a photo album. I still make sure I print out*every single* picture I take as well as having electronic back-up. Nothing could replace my love developing pictures.

I agree with Lucy nothing beats flicking through a photo album. I love Noble Macmillan luxury photo albums. They also offer personalised photo albums where they can personalise the photo album with initials, names, dates or a combination of your choice. Fantastic!
