New Sony PSP-3000 compensates battery life for a brighter screen

Sony's fans might experience feelings of disappointment upon hearing the news that the new PSP-3000 comes with a shorter battery life thanks to its brighter and larger power sucking LCD display. The good news is, the new screen will allow gamers to see "brighter colours and a better-defined on-screen image in natural light" in comparison to the PSP-2000 (look at picture). Did that lessen the blow a bit? No? Fear not my little gaming obsessives, battery life hasn't been cut dramatically. In fact it's only been cut by 20 to 30 mins, which is serious gaming time for some, I know, but not really a serious amount of time when you think about it.

If your mouth is still wide open with disbelief at this point? I guess it's time to break out Sony's backup plan. They knew the avid gamer in a majority of you wouldn't be satisfied with a three to four hour battery, so prepared with an extended battery that'll provide eight to ten hours of pure PSP action. This will conveniently be on sale alongside the PSP-3000 in Europe mid October.

Other PSP-3000 features to look forward to include, five times more screen contrast than the previous model, a wider array of colours added and a built-in microphone for multiplayer games and Skype.
