It's the time of year we've all been waiting for, when kids stop taking up valuable space on our streets and descend back to school in their hordes. No longer do we have to wade through piles of children having the nerve to enjoy themselves whilst we pop out on our lunch break as they're safely locked up once more.
And they're a streetwise lot nowadays, equipped with gadgetry we could only have dreamed of at that age. My eleven-year-old brother owns an iPod, a PS2 and is on his second mobile phone, so I'm guessing he'd find Marks and Spencer's latest line right up his street.
They've already pioneered the adult line of affordable iPod suits (which our Stuart wore so well) and are moving into the kids market with their Back to School 2008 range. You can choose from various styles of blazers and school jackets, all equipped with iPod connectors and touch sensitive controls. There are even discreet ear loops so you don't disturb the line of your jacket, perfect for listening to music in maths! They all feature a Stormwear finish which helps keep it waterproof, as well as stain defence, for mopping up those school dinners.
They don't seem to be selling too well though, as some of them are already reduced to a bargainous £9!
