Adults just aren't getting the whole social networking thing... apparently

I would like to know what constitutes 'being an adult', because technically you begin adulthood from the tender age of 18 (ahh the memories)? Technically, at 24 I'm considered as a responsible adult (no matter how much my inner child likes to reveal itself) and I am all about the social networks. As far as I'm aware, social networks are ram packed with 18 to let's say 30 year olds, so I'm thinking the majority of these oblivious folk are a tad older than that, and I use the word 'tad' lightly (or am I being too presumptuous?).

Well, according to an article on Geeksugar a staggering 58 percent of adults worldwide are completely clueless when it comes to what a social network is *jaw hits floor*. And 30 percent of Americans couldn't tell you what MySpace or Facebook is.

I'd love to know the age group of those in question. Now if they said adults over 45 don't know what a social network page is, I'd be more inclined to just accept this bit of quite frankly shocking piece of info without any gripes. My mum required much assistance when setting up her Facebook page and since then (almost a year ago now) she's visited the page all but twice and don't even get me started on my technophobe dad, who only made his entrance into the world of mobile phones very recently. Just the words social and networks bamboozles his brain.

All I can say to those who fall into that 58 percent - you're missing out on a whole bunch of cool shit.
