Just as Asus announces it's reverting back to the original Eee PC model - the 701 - to try and reclaim its top netbook status, along comes Lenovo with the announcement of its first netbook effort - the IdeaPad S10 - crowding the netbook market even more. There are two Lenovo offerings - either a £399 USD (£200) or $499 USD (£250) model. This all depends on the hard drive capacity and the size of the RAM. The sizes on offer are 512MB of memory with an 80GB hard drive, or 1GB of memory and 160GB hard drive.

Both models also feature Intel's Atom processor, run Windows XP, have a 10.2-inch LED backlit screens, WiFi, Bluetooth, a 1.3 megapixel webcam and a 4-in-1 multi-card reader.

The IdeaPad S10 is let loose in the UMPC world in October in either red, white or black. Unfortunately, this doesn't stretch to the UK - we're still waiting for that snippet of info.
