Recycled floppy disks are given a second chance

Lucy Hedges Tech

diskette_bracelet-300x225.jpgWe’ve come a long way since the days of the functional floppy disk. Rather than let it sink into the pits of obscurity, someone (with too much time on their hands or too much floppy disks) has given it a new lease of life so it can feel special and cared for, just like it did once upon a time when RM Nimbus’ and Caxton were all the rage.

I know we’re in an era of bargain basement shopping and all that, but is this perhaps taking the whole bargain/recycled look a bit too far? Looking like it would be more of a hindrance then a hot accessory, the Diskette Bracelet surprisingly doesn’t have a price tag to match its cheap roots. It’ll set you back the equivalent of a good few boxes of floppy disks – £55.00 – and will take three weeks to produce when made to order.
