Asus are keeping em' coming. Just when you thought Asus couldn't produce any more laptops (or at least wait a while before they do), they go ahead and disclose details of a new set of Eee PCs due to be released in September. The Ultimate Pro and Fashion ranges sound like a hot set of machines, especially as the specs on both models has been improved.
Apparently, we're going to be treated to dual-core Atom processors and increased storage space - either 120GB or 32GB SSD. Very little else is known. Due to leaked slides, we can tell you the Ultimate series is aimed at the "travel explorer" and "free writer", whilst the Pro Fashion series will be aimed at the professionals and journalists (are Asus assuming travel explorers and free writers aren't professionals?).
Not content with producing two new laptops, there's apparently a third on the horizon too - a new S-series of Eee Pcs. Rumour has it this one will also boast 32GB SSD, and a 10.1-inch LED backlit screen with a four to five hour battery life. Asus really are trying to corner the laptop market.
The more laptops Asus produces, the further away they drift from what made them so brilliant in the first place - low cost PCs. The supposed prices of these netbooks (£450 - £500) make them more high end, and also means they're lingering very closely to notebook territory. No pictures though - we can't wait to see if the fashion range actually *is* stylish. But fear not, we'll be posting them as soon as we see them.
