Watch a movie trailer while waiting for the tube

Tube travellers, listen up. No longer will you have to wait for your tube in utter boredom, staring aimlessly into oblivion, or at the same poster you've been standing opposite to for the past three months. If you like this kind of mind-numbing entertainment, good for you - whatever floats your boat. But, if it's entertainment you crave, as of now, you'll be able to watch a trailer for the latest movie or find out what's on TV that night thanks to a £1.5bn deal with London Underground and CBS Outdoor.

Trailers and movie advertising images will be projected onto walls opposite platforms on 14ft high screens. Unfortunately though, they'll be without sound so they don't interfere with service or emergency announcements.

Piccadilly Circus, Euston, Bank, Liverpool Street and Bond Street have been fitted with the High Definition projectors and giant soundless screens. There are also plans for further projectors to be installed at another 145 stations, so that way no one feels left out.

Not quite as developed as Japan, but we're getting there.
