Shiny Review: HTC Diamond

Comments (7)

Having been very, very, very excited about the launch of the HTC Diamond when it was announced, you can imagine my delight at getting my hands on my very own. I mention at the end that I'm going to give it a few days more to see if it could replace my Blackberry Pearl - two days later, I'm back with the Pearl.

Hey, I believe this is a preview version because a new rom was realease on the 10th of June and I have seen videos of it performing smoothly and faster...

I agree with Will. This appears to be a preview version. My version that I got on day 1o of the official release, is fantastic and smooth. I have also done some tweaks, installed a number of extra programs and it really is a diamond!

I'm downloading the new version as we speak, so I'll update if I end up with something more usable!

Its a bloody Windows Mobile with a nice skin.... of course its slow, cumbersome, and not really working under pressure!

The rom used on the video on is the old school one. I don't know why HTC hasn't been more clever when it comes to showcase the preview version as it is so slow compared to the launched version. I guess it is bad marketing as all the review were saying it is very slow and some recent ones are actually saying that it is indeed smooth fast and problem free...

I have this phone, and out of the box it was that slow. But i am now running the new 1.37.405.3 ROM edition and it is MUCH MUCH faster, the touch flow 3D is almost instant and not at all sluggish any more (thanx to a new updated version of TF3D) launching applications is also faster, and even the battery life has improved appreciably. the new 1.37.xxx.3 ROM is a must have before reviewing this phone! :)

number 1 it comes with a tiny little adapter for 3.5mm headphones and more can be got for about 3-4$ also mine is way faster than that and im using the default rom that came with it...
