Rumour: Macbook Touch in the works?

Comments (4)

macbook touch.jpgWhen Apple made their none-too-shabby earnings announcement this week, hints were dropped that their forthcoming profit margins were affected by a forthcoming 'mystery product'. Apple zealot's ears perked up and the rumour mill has gone into overdrive as a result.

The MacBook Touch is the latest potential candidate, and it looks hawt. There's a touchscreen screen slightly smaller than a Macbook screen, multitouch, a full Mac OS, GPS and accelerometer. In fact, by the sounds of it it's going to be like a really big, better featured iPhone.

The date cited is October. Well, it's either then or never. You decide.

Is an accelerometer in a laptop a good idea?

I've yet to come up with a decent application to make use of it. Hopefully the Apple R&D team are on it.

Quite a few laptops already have Accelerometers in them. They're primary designed to protect the HDD during a fall.

But some people have turn them into game or mouse controls!
Slap laptop to the left to turn game car left, etc..

I think a !Book is a great idea. I quite fancy a notepad sized web browser I can just pick up and use on the sofa as if its a small book.

Hmm, interesting. Looks much more worthy of a second look than the iPhone 3G.
