RAWRIP: Earn 100 percent royalties and discover new musical talent

RAWRIP.jpgHere's some news that should cheer up the innumerable amount of unsigned artists waiting for their big break. RAWRIP, a digital music service that gives artists and record labels 100 percent royalties from download sales has just been unleashed onto music fans and artists alike. Not only can artists rake in the cash from their music, they can also take advantage of RAWSTORES, a widget that'll allow people to sell their tunes directly from their social networking pages, while simultaneously building up a fan base.

RAWRIP encourages you to discover new artists and their contribution to music with its recommendation engine, The Rippler. Sounding more like a Batman villain than a search engine, The Rippler analyses over 30 different characteristics of each song you choose, it is then indexed against the site's complete back catalogue (that's over a million tracks) and recommends tracks similar to its sound.

This means unsigned and independent acts won't get shoved to the back and overlooked in favour of more well known acts. This could cause panic and upset amongst signed acts. Let's say you sound a bit like Bloc Party - you could automatically get rippled from them. Who knows, you might even be more popular too.

It's not all about the artists. Users who don't posses any musical talent other than music listening, are provided with full-length track streaming, free downloads and a hefty download catalogue. Currently in Beta testing, the service isn't exclusive, so virtually anyone can give it a bash - no matter how ear piercing your music is. You never know who might be listening.
