Free iPhone 3G ringtones here

iphone_free_ringtones.jpgSo, now you've got your new iPhone 3G, it looks rather pretty in your hand doesn't it? Now all you need is a funky new ringtone and your new Jesus phone will sound as good as it looks. Paying for ringtones feels slightly inequitable, especially when you're being asked to pay at least £4.00 a pop (or maybe I'm just cheap). The eager beavers have probably already tried the renaming a music file of the appropriate length to M4R method, but would have found out this technique no longer works.

There is however an alternative, until Apple fixes the loophole that is - and it's as free as the air we breathe. So get your pen and paper ready and see after the jump.

You'll need to download iRinger, unzip the file and run it. Click import and select the MP3 file you've got your heart set on, using the best 30 seconds of the song. All you need to do is grab the display and move it till it gets to where you want it to begin. You can even add in a fade in/out effect. When you're done, hit export, making sure the option to export to iTunes is selected. The last step consists of selecting your ringtones in iTunes and using the ole' drag and drop method to put the file you created onto your iPhone. Then head on over to settings and select your new ringtone.

Get them while you can folks, no doubt Apple will be putting a stop to it soon.

For a demonstration take a look at this.

hi

thanks for advice, though unfortunately my itunes does not have a rinftones folder !!!!sghhhh

Oh what a shame, I do not have the ringtones folder on my itumes either.
I so want to customise my ringtones too.

This program is awesome. Before I used to use 5 programs to get a tune onto ipod and it took ages. This does it all in about 3 minutes. Whoever made this program deserves a medal. Thanks a lot.

go to preferences and set your itunes to display your ringtones folder
