We've all been guilty of a Facebook faux pas, be it changing your single status or getting hot under the collar by your ex's stalker application. Thankfully most of us have now realised quite how overwhelming it is having people you don't know allowed to see your private contact info (thank you credit card fraud) and have upped security settings.

Not so one Ashley-Paul Robinson, a football player for Crystal Palace. He managed to update 2.7 million people in the London network of the fact he was going for an trial with Fulham, unbeknownst to his management.

He thought his status update of "Ashley-Paul is goin fulham on monday. If i pull dis off im on dis ting," was only viewable by his 194 friends, and didn't realise being in the London network meant that was not the case. He then updated a day later with, "Ashley-Paul is travling 2 Bath With Fulham Fingers Crossed."

When he realised that his not so private message had become national gossip he responded with another update, "Ashley-Paul has been very naughty lol!"

His management have not found this matter quite as funny, with a source saying that "It's pretty embarrassing for the club that this guy is telling the world he's looking to leave the club." Hmm. About time you checked your privacy settings, mate?

Hopefully this won't affect his long term career goals, but it's a warning that social networking sites are not just harmless fun, and that they pack serious bite.
