Asus have rolled out another one. This time it's the Asus Eee PC 1000, and it's made its debut in the UK this week. It takes the same styling as the 901, 904 and 905 models. The main difference is this one packs a 10-inch screen - currently the largest in the range. This also means the machine offers a near-full sized keyboard. Its specs depend on the model you choose - either the Windows XP or Linux operating system. Both versions are available in either white or black and will set you back between £349 and £369.
The Windows XP model (the cheaper of the two), features an 80GB hard drive, whereas the Linux model has a 40GB shock-proof SSD and comes packed with a bonus of 20GB of free online storage. Both models use the Intel Atom Processor, built using the world's smallest transistors, so this should provide you with high efficiency. According to Asus this chipset helps "extend battery life, allowing you to stay in touch and connected for longer".
The 1000 model comes pack with a load of applications such as, E connect. This allows you to link up with other Eee PCs through a remote desktop feature. WiMax is also on offer for decent internet speeds. To top it off, you get around 7.5 hours battery life, which can be adjusted to suit differing performance and consumption needs.
It's not as portable as the 901, but it's still portable nonetheless.

It's thoroughly wonderful! (The XP 1000 anyway.) Misco had them in stock this week.
