I must say I was a little more than intrigued when some info landed in my inbox this morning regarding a social networking management tool for women, which immediately begs the question 'what makes it specifically for women?' Before I took a wander over to the site I imagined it would be full of pink, florally and happy pappy things. Au contraire, my friends, au contraire. There's nothing girlie (in the conventional sense) about it.
mEgo presents you with a customisable interactive web avatar that streams multimedia, showcases photos and gathers info or RSS feeds from social networking sites (for men or women might I add) in one centralised location. Share your mEgo profile with the masses by embedding it on a number of sites including Facebook, Vox, Blogger, Bebo and MySpace. Alternatively, if you don't want to share it, just keep in on your desktop for your eyes only.
This is all displayed in your very own customised profile to give other people an insight into your online life (forget Facebook stalking). Customising your profile is the fun bit - select from a load of silhouettes hairstyles, animations and themes to make your profile as funkadelic as you'd like. Best of all, if your computer's not the most efficient, this will eradicate the need to have a multitude of tabs open (which only serve to make the net a slow and infuriating place).
There are many *many* other services that cater to this kind of service, but are they as fun?

You mean like this blog? I kid, I kid.
Hey! We keep the florals to a minimum!
