Whilst most earphone manufacturers are obsessed with cancelling noise, this lot are super-keen to make sure you hear as much as possible of it. Sound ridiculous? Not if you're a jogger or cyclist with an affection for your life.

They sit outside the ear, allowing you to hear traffic, announcements and people around you. The sound however, is transmitted through the ear "to conduct and radiate sound through bone and tissue". Sounds a bit gross, but it means the ear canal is left open to pick up shouts of "Get out the way, punk". It also means you can share them without fear of ear wax swapping.

They're available in adult verions, kids (for sensitive ears) and iPhone versions (with a mic and music controls on the wire), and they're £49.99, £39.99 and £59.99 respectively.

I think they're genius!
