You can't have entered the internet recently without being aware of the furor around Wii Fit Girl, who was filmed playing the hula-hooping game on the Wii Fit, something that involves 1 minute 9 of her gyrating her hips dressed in some stripey pants and a t-shirt. Filmed by her delight of a boyfriend, and posted on YouTube with the title 'Why every guy should buy their girlfriend a Wii Fit', it's had over 2 million views so far.
It's been so popular it's prompted Nintendo to deny it was a viral, and The Daily Mail has granted it official So Popular They're Even Talking About It In Middle England status by interviewing the boyfriend. My favourite quote from him is definitely "If she had known she was being filmed she would have changed her outfit to something cuter - perhaps let her hair down, taken her glasses off, etc." What a sweetheart.
Apparently, when she first found out about the video, she rang her beloved and screamed down the phone at him. Not exactly the hunting him with a kitchen knife plan I would have employed, but each to their own. It seems however, "she now finds herself laughing about it and enjoying her 15 minutes of fame as the Wii Fit girl." Personally, I admire her resiliance (but then I don't have her arse). Yay for not getting stressed out about YouTube and the Internets. But as for laughing along with the boyfriend? The boy's a twat - I'd still employ the kitchen knife plan.
