If you love the Nintendo DS and like to watch and maintain your weight, this might just be an ideal game for you. My Health Coach: Manage your Weight has been created for individuals who enjoy reaching and maintaining their weight and consider fitness a challenge rather than a chore. Considering I go to the gym about once every two weeks, I guess that doesn't include me then?
The game has been developed in collaboration with a nutritional expert and fitness coach, so they're not messing around here. Nintendo really wants you to partner up with this fitness game to maintain a healthier lifestyle. That's why it is designed to fit your own objectives while taking into consideration your daily constraints.
As well as managing your weight, the game tracks your progress and achievements in improving your energy balance. It will also let you know when you find the right balance between your food intake and energy levels. All healthy actions and physical activities are converted into the walking distance energy equivalent. So you're able to monitor your real fitness levels via the pedometer.
You can even take the advice of a fitness coach. So if you lack motivation, set yourself daily challenges, mini-games and quizzes to bring up those fitness levels. Some examples of this include:
- Don't use any elevators or escalators for an entire day
- Sit in the lotus position for 15 minutes
- Have two bowls of vegetable soup
I haven't tried it but I quite like the idea of having a personal trainer in my pocket. And with summer around the corner...
It's released on June 20th and will retail for £29.99.
