The HTC Touch Pro unveiled

htc_touch_pro.jpgIf you got all hot under the collar at the sight of the HTC Touch Diamond, released only a few weeks ago, you might need a fan and a bucket of water when you see HTC's new slider sibling.

I'm sure there are a few of you who are a bit miffed the HTC Touch Diamond was short of a full keyboard. So you'll be relieved to know, the HTC Touch Pro features a sliding QWERTY keyboard. Now the HTC Touch range caters for both tastes - touch screen keys and physical keys at your disposal. Good news for those who love the HTC Touch Diamond's plush design but weren't impressed with the lack of full keyboard. So no more complaining.

Under that pretty glossy black shell lies WiFi, HSPA with 7.2Mbps on the downstream, Blutooth and a 2.8-inch VGA display. It also has a 3.2 megapixel camera, a half gig of ROM, and 288MB of RAM. Like the Diamond, the Touch Pro runs Windows Mobile 6.1 and features HTCs TouchFLO 3D interface.

It's not the thinnest of phones - 18.05mm - but that's the price you pay for a sliding QWERTY keyboard.

The first batch of devices are heading for Europe later in the summer. The rest of the world will no doubt follow suit later.
