Looking very light sabre-esque, this is Sony's latest prototype speaker brought to life. This time last year, this tubular design was unveiled as a prototype. Today, it sits proudly on the shelf waiting to be taken home by audiophiles with a passion for music.
As the picture so nicely depicts, the Sountina speaker features a transparent organic glass tube which vibrates and expands sound to 360 degrees. It also delivers a frequency response of 50Hz - 20,000Hz.
This is what happens when you combine great imagination with the ability to get things done. Inimitable gadgets are never without the high price tag. This is no exception - $10,200 USD. It's going to take a few grand to get them standing in your living room, but any true audiophile knows that quality sound costs *a lot* of money.

I love the look of this speaker. Shame its soooo pricey as I'd have to bag myself one.
