Everyone may be waiting with bated breath for tonight's iPhone announcement (3G, c'mon 3G), but there is a contender waiting in the wings that may outshine it. Behold Samsung's i900 Omnia, with its 3.2 inch touchscreen and 5 megapixel camera. You also get a FM Tuner,GPS and Wi-Fi, need I go on?
It works with Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro, so the software will be familiar and you can get 8GB and 6GB versions, which is nice. I love the fact that the camera offers face and smile detection, and giving you auto panorama shots. It aso Geotags locations as it has a built in GPS receiver.
The phone itself is only 12.5mm thick and has a brushed metal finish. So how does it measure up with the iPhone? Well, the i900 has three buttons, which means you don't have to totally rely on the touchscreen and the camera they both have microSD cards to expand the memory, and knowing Samsung, their phone will have a lot less glitches. In the end it really depends on which camp you fall into- Apple fanboy or Windows fan.
