Are you more than a bit upset you don't own an Xbox 360 to play Rock Band and are therefore unable to determine whether you were born to rock? Exciting news for you then, as Microsoft has just launched a new Facebook application called myRockBand. The myRockBand application has been designed to mirror aspects of the Rock Band game, so you're as close to the real thing as possible.
Once downloaded, create the ultimate band by selecting mates from your friends list. Choose your band name and the positions your band members will play - lead guitar, bass, drums and vocals. Your friends can interact with the application as well, so just like Bon Jovi and other rock god bands, your fans can scream 'You rock', throw their knickers, show you rock horns and crowd surf. It's not all about the positive though. Your critics can boo the band or put fingers in their ears to show just how much they hate your group.
Expect *a lot* of showdowns between friends, fighting for the right to be in your band. Wannabe band members can audition to join your band and can even challenge your current band members for their position. The myRockBand application launches a flash game that gives you a sequence of notes to be memorised and then replicated by the wannabe band member. If they score higher than the original band member, they take their rightful place in your band.
It sounds like loads of fun, but will perhaps prove to be a bit distracting when in the office (eeek). Go on, you know you want to - do it here. Create the ultimate rock band and share in Microsoft's Xbox 360 Presents Rock Band Live events and "loads of other music stuff".
Xbox 360 Presents Rock Band Live events will be held across the UK, France and Germany and will give fans the opportunity to perform songs from a variety of artists including David Bowie and Radiohead.
