At the beginning of the year we brought you footage of the R2D2 non-prototype projector, tipped to be a huge seller in the UK. Well now we can put that theory to the test as the projector is now on sale at I want one of those for £1,999. A mighty price yes, but for a very *very* cool home entertainment accessory.
I'd like to shake the hands of its creators because this is such a cracking piece of kit. Not only is it in the form of everyone's favourite droid, it's full-sized and will look very cool and retro sitting in your living room/bedroom/wherever.
Insert a DVD into his body and project your movies, video games or photos up to 80 inches across onto a suitable wall or other surface. The specs don't stop there. He also has an inbuilt FM radio and doubles up as an iPod docking station. His remote is also very Star Wars-esque as it's a model of the Millennium Falcon, complete with a load of buttons to control every aspect of your projecting robot.
Not one to scrimp on special effects, his creators have also included all those familiar beeps and whistles we've all come to know and love too. They've even added in some funky lights. You'll be the envy of all your Star Wars loving friends with this one.
