Glastonbury revelers will be happy to know that a dead phone battery mid-festival doesn't necessarily mean making no more calls until you get home. This is because Orange will be setting up their giant mobile phone charger again, powered by wind and solar power, to provide much-needed juice for low-powered festival goers.
The Orange mobile wind charger is a turbine weighing just 150 grams that can easily be fixed onto your tent and is small enough to fit into your rucksack. Up to 100 people will be able to juice-up at the 7m (23ft) stand.
Having a mobile phone that works is essential when at Glastonbury. I mean how else would you be able to make your friends at home immensely jealous by playing them live tunes pumping out from the main stage? And what if you meet a hot guy and exchange numbers, then plan to meet up in the festival? Nightmare!
Orange's attempt to provide an alternative source of energy for mobiles in the form of this giant phone charger, while respecting Glastonbury's commitment to being environmentally aware is a brilliant idea. Shame I'm not going, I would have liked to check it out.
