If you're having problems trying to keep the drool off your keyboard this morning, you'll be no doubt interested in O2's latest announcement regarding the pricing of this new 3G iPhone everyone is banging on about.

And yes, for some, it will be free. Namely, those who sign up to a £45 will get the 8GB model, whilst those on a £75 tariff will get the 16GB version for nada. If you're on a £30 or £35 monthly tariff the 8GB version will be £99, whilst the 16GB version will cost £159. PAYG pricing has yet to be confirmed.

And there's great news for anyone who took the plunge with the original iPhone.

You'll be able to break your 18 month contract to upgrade to the new iPhone, albeit tying yourself into another 18 month with O2. You'll also be able to switch your tariff when you upgrade. Customers interested in doing that can do so through this link.

As well as the phone and unlimited data from O2, the new tariffs include free browsing from any WiFi hotspots from The Cloud and BT Hotspots.

I'm just off to mop up my keyboard...
