You're probably wondering how on earth these three things could prevent anyone from smoking. Well let me tell you. Take Allen Carr's book, 'The Easy way to stop smoking' and those game makers at Ubisoft. Combine the two together and you've got a Nintendo DS game designed to help you quit smoking based on whatever gubbins fills the pages of Mr Carr's book.

According to Ubisoft, Carr's book has been used by 10 million people to kick the habit. So in the game, smokers will be questioned about his/her smoking habits and then assigned a digital coach to get rid of the habit for good.

I'm a smoker and I really don't plan to quit any time soon. But say I did want to kick my filthy habit (yea thanks mum) there are so many methods out there designed to stop the cravings and avert those sneaky ciggie breaks at work. What makes Ubisoft think a game can contend? Can a videogame really help you stop smoking?

The game is being released in November. I wonder if a flock of eager smokers desperate to quit will be queuing up early or elbow dropping fellow gamers for this one? Only time will tell. When I decide to quit, maybe I'll try the game out for myself and let you know. Rest assured this won't be anytime soon so don't look out for it.
