Some silly person over at Dell (whose job is probably now on the line) has managed to leak information about two of their latest models - the Dell E and the E Slim. While the Dell E 8.9-inch mini notebook is set to challenge the likes of the Asus Eee PC, the 12.1-inch E Slim version of the same notebook (pictured above) will be competing directly against wafer-thin notebooks such as the MacBook Air and the new Voodoo Envy.
I've read the Dell E will be powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Diamondville processor, with RAM options of 512MB or 1GB and 4GB, 8GN or 16GB of flash storage. The Dell E's 8.9-inch display also features a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution and will be available with either Linux or Windows XP.
The 12.1-inch version the E Slim, has been designed for ultra-portability. It's going to have 1.3GHz and 1.6GHz Intel Silverthorne processors, with either an 8GB flash or 40GB hard drive. This version will also offer the choice of Linux or Windows XP, 512MB or 1GB of RAM.
The Dell E Slim is expected to debut sometime around August or September in the US and the Dell E (pictured below) will launch in August.
There's no word on any prices yet, but I think we did OK from this snippet of leaked information. When we know more, so will you.
