Fashion and technology have collaborated yet again. We've already seen Armani, Prada and D&G's efforts. This time, the latest high end fashion brand to jump on the popular trend that is consumer electronics is Christian Dior.
Aimed at brand conscious consumers, Dior's new line of mobiles are quite pricey so won't be bagged by just any old consumer. They've teamed up with ModeLabs to design not only a high-end handset but also a a miniature phone extender dubbed the 'My Dior', which is apparently no larger than a USB key.
Find out more after the jump.
The mini phone extender has been designed with women in mind - to make answering calls simple and hassle-free. The tiny phone clips on to the outside of a bag for easy accessibility and communicates with the regular handset. Often, mobiles have a knack of making their way into the depths of your bag, which then causes you to root through your bag in a panicky state to find it. Based on that premise, I think this is a great feature and would be a very useful device to have around. However, they've justified it by claiming it's for women. Is it just the girls who would benefit from a feature like this? One thinks not. Stop with the gadgets for women already.
The Dior phone offers quite standard features, such as a camera (no word on mega pixels), text messaging and a touch screen. For between £1,500 - £3000 I'd expect the features to be a bit more impressive, but then again, as with a lot of high-fashion pieces you're paying for the name rather than the actual quality of the product.
