So, we're just hours away from the World Premiere of the Sex and the City movie. I've heard rumours that there's going to be a Shiny Towers exodus at five thirty on the dot this evening, so that people can go and stargaze down at Leicester Square. But whilst our sister blogs are obsessing over the clothing, here at Shiny Shiny, we're far more interested in what gadgets the girls might be toting. Everyone has an idea of which character they're most like, but do you have the right phone to match?
Carrie: Who could forget the episode where Carrie lost all her writing because her Mac crashed, and no one had let her into the secret of backing up? Despite this, something tells me Carrie will never be seen running Vista.
Phone: The iPhone. It's got the perfect combination of good looks and functionality, with an interface that doesn't require you to be geeky in order to get the most from it.
Also carries: A Macbook Air.

Samantha: She's a strong woman who certainly doesn't need a man to route her wireless. Saying that, she's far too busy shagging socialising to be messing about with overly complicated manuals.
Phone: HTC Diamond. It's allegedly business friendly, handling emails with ease. But it really comes into its own when you're using the internet on the move, and of course for showing off. It's particularly good for the showing off part...
Also carries: The lipstick vibrator

Miranda: She's the career minded one of the bunch, so will need her gadgets to deliver under pressure. Now she's balancing her work with being a mum, there's even more for her to organise.
Phone: Blackberry Bold. OK, so it was only announced today, but she's a cutting edge lawyer - she'd be one of the first to get this all singing, all dancing, all emailing Blackberry machine.
Also carries: Nannycam

Charlotte: She's the maternal one, the quieter one and the one no one really wants to be but most of us probably are. Gadgets won't be a top priority (how can they be when you've got a hectic schedule of fund raising lunches) but there's no reason to carry anything sub-standard.
Phones: Since her previous life was that of an art gallery curate, it's only fitting she's carrying the Nokia Arte phone. They're not cheap and they're not light (a metal and glass body sees to that) but the anti-fingerprint coating at least means it's practical.
Also carries: Canon EOS450 digital SLR
Nikon S1000pj: World's First Projector Camera

This article is all wrong. Carrie doesn't carry the iphone Samantha does, and Miranda carries a Blackberry from 8700 series, probably the 8707g. What a pointless article this was it was just filled with wrong information. Also Carried doesn't have a Macbook Air she has a Macbook Pro.
Don't panic! It was an article written before the film was released, hypothesising on what phones might suit which characters.
But what is the name of Carries new phone??
I spent the whole film trying to figure it out, and I'm still none the wiser!
Susi
In the movie, Samantha hands Carrie her iPhone, and Carrie says "I can't work this" and asks for someone else's phone.
Ahh, V true Jen
How Observanto =)
Carrie has a phone covered in pink diamante's...it looks like it could be a Motorola (which I am pretty sure Big also carries) or a Samsung.
