Podcast punters will be happy to know that Foneshow, another podcast service for mobiles, has just been launched (it's nice to have variety). What I like about this service is that unlike other podcasting services such as Podlinez, which charge you based on your tariff's call charges, Foneshow charges customers based on text message charges (great if you have unlimited free texts).
The service offers a fast and easy way to access downloadable podcasts straight to your mobile rather than having to synch it to your PC first.
To get started, users will need to subscribe to the service by entering in their phone number and selecting a number of podcasts via the Foneshow website. Subscribers are notified by text when a series publishes a new show. The text will include the series' name, show subject, its duration and the coded access number. A user only needs to hit the send button to hear the show and they'll be connected.
Another thing I like about Foneshow is that its pool of content is potentially vast, as any podcast on the internet can be converted into a Foneshow. It sounds easy to control as well - pause, rewind or fast-forward with your phones number pad. If you hang up, Foneshow will resume from where you left off if you call back.
Great if you're stuck somewhere, like a never-ending queue!
